Then she says that she wishes Adam Lambert, an American Idol runner-up and openly gay man, had won American Idol. (Please note that I only watched this season because of Adam and because my wife and I are friends with some of his family members.)

Who the fuck does this bitch think she fuckin' is? You think you can enjoy what the gay community offers and be opposed to our equality and think you can just go about your fucking day without someone having a damn problem with it?

California Decides to Hear Us Out!

Here's an email I just received from Equality California.

The California Supreme Court announced today that it will hear oral arguments on Thursday, March 5, 2009 in the Proposition 8 legal challenge.

On November 19, 2008, the California Supreme Court agreed to hear the legal challenges to Proposition 8 and set an expedited schedule. Briefing in the case was completed on January 21, 2009.

The California Supreme Court must issue its decisions within 90 days of oral argument.

On January 15, 2009, 43 friend-of-the-court briefs urging the Court to invalidate Prop 8 were filed, arguing that Proposition 8 drastically alters the equal protection guarantee in California’s Constitution and that the rights of a minority cannot be eliminated by a simple majority vote. The supporters represent the full gamut of California’s and the nation’s civil rights organizations and legal scholars, as well as California legislators, local governments, bar associations, business interests, labor unions, and religious groups.

In May of 2008, the California Supreme Court held that laws that treat people differently based on their sexual orientation violate the equal protection clause of the California Constitution and that same-sex couples have the same fundamental right to marry as other Californians. Proposition 8 eliminated this fundamental right only for same-sex couples. No other initiative has ever successfully changed the California Constitution to take away a right only from a targeted minority group. Proposition 8 passed by a bare majority of 52 percent on November 4.

The National Center for Lesbian Rights, Lambda Legal, and the ACLU filed this challenge on November 5, representing Equality California, whose members include many same-sex couples who married between June 16 and November 4, 2008, and six same-sex couples who want to marry in California. The California Supreme Court has also agreed to hear two other challenges filed on the same day: one filed by the City and County of San Francisco (joined by Santa Clara County and the City of Los Angeles, and subsequently by Los Angeles County and other local governments); and another filed by a private attorney.

Glad to Know Someone Can Afford a New Home

For the past 2 or 3 days, I've been having to walk an hour to get to work and school...and it's not exactly warm here. The reason is because a lot of my pay has been really messed up and we don't have any extra spending money, (i.e. buying a $2.00 bus pass). I've been living off of $4 the past week.

So, we finally had to resort to attempting to take out a loan for just a few thousand dollars just to pay for some much needed essentials. By the grace of God, we were approved. The banker even told my wife that he was surprised that we were approved due to the economy sucking right now. Then he told Amanda about how someone with a credit score of 800 tried to get a home loan just a couple days before and was disapproved. How does this happen? How?

At least I can sleep soundly tonight with my $4 tucked away knowing that our dear fucking President has no problem purchasing a new home in Dallas.

I hope I'm not the only one having some issues with this picture.

Laughs @ The Hatemongers

I love it.

We stumped the Fred Phelps Hatemongers! They are soooo blinded with their hate that they completely overlooked one small detail. (Psss...we don't have a Swedish Consulate...shhhh).

They spend God knows how much money to fly out here, protest us, not hear us out or even hold a civil conversation with us just to show their hatred toward what? Neutral bathrooms at Portland State? A Swedish Consulate, which I've already mentioned, which doesn't even exist anymore? And a German Consulate? And then they drove to Silverton to protest outside of Silverton's mayor's office, who happens to be a male to female transgender woman and then protest a church in Silverton because they've allowed this mayor to even exist.

Why not spend that money to send to a charity?? I don't know? Do something, ANYTHING, out of the example that Jesus set for us: LOVE.

I've always been a bit curious and interesting in loonies (i.e. Hitler, the Phelps clan), but these people are the exact reason as to why gays will go to hell. Slam the door in our faces and straight up tell us we're going to hell and that God hates us and give us no reasoning other than your hateful yelling and psychedelic-colored signs.

Portland welcomes you back anytime...just somebody let me know they're coming a little more in advance so I can make my own crazy God Hates (fill the blank) sign.

If that link isn't the best example of "what goes around...", then I'm not sure of a better one at this moment.

Now, a lot of people, thanks to the media, think that all gay rights supporters are just vandalizing the entire world and ready to tear someone's face off over the passing of proposition 8. The truth is, not everyone is.

Amanda and I are 1 of the 11,000 couples that married legally during those few months in California. We are truly the few out of the many. If anyone in the world should be pissed off, shouldn't it be us? Naturally, I believe so but we're not.

Before I explain why, let me just say THANK YOU! to the people protesting around the nation (not rioting, like the news has said) and working your ass off on our behalf. We wouldn't have come this far without our supporters and just the people that "get it". If I had more time in my day, more money in my banking account, and more patience about subjects that I feel strongly about then I would be doing what I could 24/7 to fight back at this ridiculous ban. But, the truth is, I can't. Not right now.

Now, why are we not completely pissed off about prop 8? Well, first off, we have to maintain our relationship with one another. Getting emotional about something like this only leads couples to take their anger out on one another. I admit, I let this passing of prop 8 overshadow Barack's victory. I was very "whatever" about the whole election night because I knew that prop 8 was going to pass. It was a gut instinct, no real deep research was accomplished on my behalf. So I just headed to bed after his speech and let the whole thing just sit with me a few days and then I started to get mad and I did take it out on Amanda, the last person in the world I should have even thought about turning against. But then she said, "If you're pissed off at something that's going on outside in the world, don't blame me for it." And she was right and I have to continue to remind myself about that everyday.

I let prop 8 control me for about a day and a half, but it doesn't anymore. The world is a huge place. Bigger than I could ever imagine. There are people at this very moment, sitting in offices around the world planning out terrible laws and plans, etc. to oppress and hurt others. By sitting in my home, where I am suppose to find solace, and getting pissed off over something that is out of my hands at this moment, I accomplish nothing.

We still wear our rings. We still call each other our "wife" when referring to each other to someone else. We still sleep in the same bed with our dogs. We remind each other of how much we love one another everyday, several, several times a day. We laugh and laugh...and laugh. We're good people and we pose no threat to anyone. I would consider us some of the most down-to-earth, normal people you could ever meet. Ask the people that know us best and I'd bet money that no one would disagree.

But I guess some people see otherwise. In fact, I know it.

In my past, I've met people who have reacted to my being gay with a very "Oh, my God" type of reaction. If they didn't say it verbally, they're body language screamed it. Some of those people are still cool with me, some have fell off my radar. But I wish that I could just sponsor someone that claims to never have met a gay person. I want to meet those people. I want to talk to them very deeply and answer all of their questions very honestly. I want a no-holds-barred interview for hours and hours in a coffee shop, all drinks on me. I want to open someone's eyes about this. I want to show them that the lies are just that, lies. We're not the boogie man in the middle of the night. We are people that are capable of maintaining self-control and monogamous relationships, unlike the stereotypes portray us as. I want the truth spread, not dirty money to oppress people that just want to love one another. I want understanding and peace.

Plain and simple.

But until that happens, the fight continues and money that could be spent to spread the word of God, is instead spent to spread the trend of hate.

Idiot of the Day

Okay, so as my last post suggested, when I feel moved to write about something then I'll know and write about it, but I didn't know what it would be about.

Well, kinda disappointing to myself, the first post-election post is about, you guessed it, politics.

I don't really want to talk about it that much because I'm kind of busy right now with homework, but since the election has been over, it just seems that there has been a McCain supporters' movement or something. Not all McCain supporters, just the negative ones as usual...and even a couple of closet supporters I didn't know about until they started spouting off.

It started the day before the election, escalated the election day and then came to a halt for about 3 hours after Obama was declared the winner and then peaked with utter hatred the next morning.

I saw NONE of this during the entire election season and then, what?, a day before the election you want to start campaigning? No, that's not how it works if you are truly passionate and are aware of the importance of a win by your party. That's just with people that I know personally.

Another problem I have is that when I confront these people, there have been about 7 or 8 of them, about some really negative and flat out wrong comments they've made about Obama, I hear nothing back. Nothing. I'm not sure why. There must have just been an error message after hitting the send button and they didn't bother to figure out why and just forgot about getting back to me in the future. I dunno.

Now to the people I don't personally know and hope to God never know.

6 Days To Go

I'm back. For a minute at least or while I have a free moment.

I have to be honest.

It's been a while since I've gotten on this once overly-blogged blog and blogged. (How many times can you say blog in one sentence?)

I had a 2 week vacation in between classes and that's when I was really in the heat of things with the election.

Well, first off, I'm sorry to everyone that reads because I, in a way, feel like I'm letting someone down by not keeping it up to date, etc.

But my reasons are:

- School started again. That is my social life, as of late.

- The economic crisis. That completely knocked me off this horse.

- The top of my head felt like it was going to explode from all the negativity I was hearing and continue to hear from the McCain campaign, plus I started to have a lot of doubts on a lot of issues. (These issues go waaaay deeper than just Democrat vs Republican. They are more like world domination-based.) I don't even want to go into it cause it makes me sick to think about it. But if you read some of my latest blogs then you'll see where I'm coming from.

- My entire emotional, spiritual, etc. status began to get all in a frinzey with the politics and "chess moves".

- And lastly, Sarah Palin. I'm still waiting for Mitt Romney to jump out of her body like a hot chick from a birthday cake and say, "Surprise!" But no. She is the reality and that scares the sucking fhit out of me.

Well, needless to say, I'm behind on my politics. I'm not the "read every blog and every issue" girl anymore. I realized where that takes me and I was miserable at times. So yes, I am behind. I honestly don't even know what the whole Joe the Plumber is about. I'm that far out of it. All the latest and greatest that I've seen is that the racism on the Republican side has stepped it up 37 knotches. They are NOT shy about it now. The n-word seems to be cause on camera everyday by a McCain supporter everyday lately. That's all I've seen.

So, with only 6 days in this "is it ever gonna get it here" election, I have to say that I have submitted my vote for Obama and that's that. If I helped enlighten anyone or encourage you, then that was what it was all about. Most people, like my present-day self, didn't have the privilege to get into the meat of the issues and learn it all. That's where I put myself for those people for that little while and that was the point.

I'll continue updating, no doubt, loosely, especially with the holidays coming up and school almost at the mid-term now. But we have 6 days to wait and see where our hard work has taken us.

Let me put it this way...

Life is good. I'm enjoying it while it last and I'm confident in this election. The only time I feel worried is if there is an October surprise that would benefit the McCain circus. Not saying I'm complacent, but that I'm not all in it face like I have been. I'm still keeping an eye on this stuff.

There's just soooo much shit that's happened since I've last blogged and right now I can't keep up and due to me being out of it for the past week, I don't even know where to start... I'm behind, people, plain and simple.

So I'm gonna concentrate on getting the grade at school, which just started back this past week, loving my wife with all my heart, playing with my puppies, enjoying me some mufuking Bama football, keeping up with this campaign only to the point of not getting pissed or depressed (which I was all last week along with being sick) and just love life.

Life is great and I'm loving it right now.

There will be posts, but I'm working on being a happy patriot first and foremost before it's taken away from me.

Back On My Feet

Last Tuesday it started with an ear infection that moved into a deadly sore throat then into my sinus' for a good 4 days. Then this morning I wake up with just a little bit of the sniffles and some stopped up ears.

I have to admit that I'm a bit rusty on everything that I'm mentioning. Back in 2006, after returning from Iraq, I began doing research about 9/11 being an inside job. I also did research along the way about the NWO, NAU, Illuminati, and Freemasonry. We're not supposed to know about this. WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS AND BE VERY VERY ANGRY.

However, after about 2 months of obsessing and being pissed off at my government in 2006, I had to let it go because it only sunk me into the deepest stage of depression I have ever been in.

I do not know if Barack Obama is associated at all with any of this or if he encourages it. I have not did research that far into it yet. All I know is that John McCain has been seen wearing an Illuminati pin while giving a speech and that President Bush has said that "electing a Democratic president could lead to another terroist attack".

I take that last statement by Bush as a threat. "If you elect Barack, we will attack the US again." Which would only lead to more steps taken toward a NWO.

It's time we stop calling the "crazies" with all these conspiracy theories crazies and open our eyes. The rug will be swept from under us...soon.

However, I am not recalling my support of Barack, please note that. This may be a pick between the lesser of two evils if he is indeed involved, but by supporting and electing Barack I believe that we will at least have a chance at slowing the NWO at least for a little while. I will do my research into Barack's involvement and find out the truth because the truth is what I aim for and while I still have that freedom, I will exercise it.

Interesting "Troops On Crowd Control" Response

Here is a response on Disinfo.com from someone to the story about troops being put on Homeland crowd control duty for 12 months starting Wednesday, October 1st. He/she mentions martial law a couple days before the House states that we're in martial law.

"There possibly is something else behind this. This something else has probably not been reported, or admitted. When the local and state police departments and divisions, plus the state national guard/s are insufficient to control riots, there are procedures in place to call federal military units. These are written into the laws mentioned in the article, and probably others. But the questions is, why would the local and state police departments and divisions, plus the national guard/s be insufficient to handle riots? The Bush-2 Administration attempted to pass a law that would override laws such as Posse Comitatus. But who drafted the Bill, and what were they expecting or planning? This is not revealed in the article. One way for local and state units to be unable to handle internal situations is if the senior officers are not here. One way for this to happen is if they are called to serve overseas, or if they are given early retirement. Americans by nature are not prone to violence. So... what are the thinkers behind the current Administration planning or expecting, which they believe would cause Americans to riot? This would be one or a series of nationwide riots. Why do they think that would happen? Several natural disasters have happened on American soil in the past several years, the current Administration has been unable to provide promptly for American citizens in distress, and there have been no major riots anywhere reported by the press. So why are they trying to pass a military law enforcement overkill bill? It may be that they plan to impose martial law in extensive areas, thus necessitating more manpower to enforce it than what the states have available at this or that expected time. The imposition of martial law for any extended period of time could be considered one step in the establishment of a dictatorship. If civil rights are canceled by action of a martial law decree, the legal regime becomes a military law regime. This article may be pointing to a non-acknowledged plan to set up a dictatorship in the future. Someone stands to gain. Maybe if someone follows the money, it will appear in the light of day. Dictators do not establish dictatorships to lose. They set them up to gain. Someone stands to gain."*

I just read an article on Ron Paul's view of our current situation and he mentioned "martial law" and "civil unrest due to financial meltdown." Martial law. Civil unrest.

How is it that John McCain attracts so many Christians' endorsements?

My sister and I have both been at it, trying to figure out what Christians see in McCain that represents their faith. She and I have only received 2 answers, 1 each, from our fellow Christians. The only reasons we've received are that McCain's pro-life, anti-gay rights, and pro-women's right.

I mean, who couldn't have guessed that they would say something about abortion and gays? I mean, it's just known that those are churches' biggest fears. The one that tripped me up was the women's rights. Pro-life is anti-women's rights. Sarah Palin is the biggest advocate AGAINST women's rights that we've seen in a while. May wanna do a fact check on yourself, Pubs.

But I think there are some points that are being missed by Christian organizations:

1) The latest news: McCain has a gambling problem. This may be justified and overlooked because the Bible doesn't say anything specifically about gambling. It only says to stay away from the love of money (1 Timothy 6:10; Hebrews 13:5) and to stay away from attempts to get rich quick (Proverbs 13:11; Ecclesiastes 5:1).

2) And one of the biggest deal breakers, but that could just be me, is that McCain doesn't believe that God created the heavens and the Earth (Genesis 1:1). The very first verse of the entire Bible, what started it all, isn't even a reality to John McCain. He has went on the record as saying, "I believe in evolution, but I also believe, when I hike the Grand Canyon and see it at sunset, that the hand of God is there also." Is somebody riding the fence to appeal to a larger amount of people? I think so. Yup, that's what's happening.

3) So now that John believes in evolution, should creatism be taught in schools? He says no. But Palin says yes. Hmm, is this a problem to most Christians? No. It seems that it's just a game of rock, paper, scissors, maybe? Palin's yes covers McCain's no. Amazing.

Shouldn't these be pointed out more to active Christians who base their vote off of who is more moral?

I think so, but I'm just a girl with a computer so...

Let's talk about this love of money thing. John McCain is married to an heiress of a fortune. ($ x 150 million) He owns 13 houses. ($$$$$$$$$$$$$) He owns 7 cars. ($$$$$$$) He gambles and has a major problem with it. ($$$$$$$) He owns a private plane. ($)

Now to Obama. He lives in South Chicago. He owns 1 house ($). He owns 1 car. ($). He is not married to an heiress, but instead a mother.

Okay, what about the "sanctity of marriage"? McCain left his first wife who had been crippled in an automobile accident for Cindy while he was still married to his first wife. I don't think anything else he has done, as far as any good in a marriage, really counts because that's the lowest thing you can do to your spouse, short of murdering them.

Obama has been married to the same woman for 16 years. His wife left her job to be able to take care of their children the way they believe a family to be run. But his family isn't a good example for Americans? Strange point.

Is the fact that McCain believes in evolution an easier subject for Christians to overlook than a woman wanting an abortion or the fear that gays will force all straight people be lowered to their second-class status?

Yesterday, I discovered Google Chrome, an alternative browser. It's so much faster than Firefox and I just hate Internet Explorer. But Chrome is so hip and fast and useful and I LOVE IT.

On Friday afternoon, Sergey Brin, a co-founder of Google, announced that Google opposes Proposition 8.

This morning I was just thinking about this crazy Proposition 8 and I got to thinking, "I'm gonna be one stressed out mofo on November 4th." I'm strongly backing Obama and the opposition to Prop 8. My family and I will be greatly affected if Obama loses, but directly affected is Prop 8 passes. My marriage is invalid if that passes. No good. As if it never existed.

Now I know that I've said that I will still consider myself married whether it's passed or not, but I'm tired of settling. I want to have my pie and eat it too, damn it. Heterosexual people get to and the original text of the Bible speaks nothing on the subject of homosexuals. THE ORIGINAL. The one the prophets wrote...not the one that has been wrongly translated over so many centuries. (I plan on posting very soon with some in-depth facts on this.) The church performed same-sex marriages in the 14th century. It's just facts. You can't change that, although people have and that's why we have utter hate for homosexuals from the church today. The church that is taught to love your neighbor as yourself. Yeah, those people. They don't allow me to worship with them. I've tried.

No on Proposition 8. That link takes you to the Protect Marriage website, a strong supporter of Yes on Prop 8. I love how very crisp and clean the website is.

Underneath it all is a very ugly monster.

My Poll Update

If you've been reading some of my posts, you would have seen where I oppose polls because I doubt their accuracy. Well, it's almost as if they heard we talking crap about them because the Gallup Poll called me from Lincoln, Nebraska yesterday. They had called me the night before but we didn't get to the phone in time AND it was in the middle of the debates. WTF.

So I guess I can't use the reason, "I don't like polls because I never receive a phone call from them asking my opinion" anymore. Eh. Gotta think of another good excuse :)

But the poll started off with the question, "Do you approve of or disapprove of President George W. Bush's performance as President?" Of course, I said, "Disapprove". And then about 10 - 15 questions about the economy and how it's affecting me now and will it affect me positively or negatively in the next year. I said, "Disapprove" to the performance of McCain and the Republicans in regards to getting a solution to this crisis, but I said, "Approve" to the performance of Obama, Democrats, Congress, and, believe it or not, George W. Bush.

Now, pick your jaw up from the floor and let me explain. The facts are that this man is a do-nothing type person, let alone President. He marches to the beat of his own little drum and vacations on the job too damn much. I think he's a horrible President. Not the worst though (look at some of our previous Presidents and you'll understand why i.e. Warren G. Harding is the first one that comes to mind). But he has evil, unfair, biased motives. There is no doubt about that. He's horrendous and we made a huge mistake with him. I know this. But I said that I approve of his performance in regards to this crisis for the SOLE reason that he actually did something. He didn't let this one just handle itself. He went on national television and scared the living hell out of all of us, but he did something. That's the ONLY reason why I said I approve because there has been too many major problems we have faced, many he has created himself, where he will just ignore and not acknowledge the American people.

Quick fact: President George W. Bush has yet to attend a fallen soldiers' funeral.

But, now, to the point I even decided to write this post...

I know I said that I'd compare the pre-debate polls to today's polls, BUT it looks as if a lot of states have not been updated in the polls. I'm gonna wait til Wednesday so that I give the polls a little more time to update their info.

Although, the Gallup Poll has been going up in Obama's favor. Today I woke up to Obama 50% and McCain 42%. AND Alabama Crimson Tide is ranked #2 in the nation.

It's a beautiful day to be a Democratic Alabama football fan.

Sarah's full name is Sarah Louise Heath Palin. Heath is her maiden name.

If you've been reading the past couple days, then you'll notice that Sarah Louise Heath Palin has seemed to have made more of a comeback in my blog.

First of all, I'm feeling more comfortable just saying her name. I did not want to "promote" that woman whatsoever after I saw how much love she was receiving after her VP nomination speech.

But from now on, there is no holds barred. She's fair game 100%. Why should we hold back from any negative comments about her? So what if she's a woman. So what! She's already self-proclaimed that she's a tough bitch (she's said it - pitbull...bitch...) so if she is so damn tough then she can handle it. I can't seem to find anything positive, except for the very, very, very, very limited physical traits she has, which people are honestly going to base their vote off of. My advice to these shallow, backwoods folk is to take a picture. We have a country to run.

So instead of saying nothing, homegirl has to be called out. But here's the truth. Sarah has been wrapped in bubble wrap and answers to...no one? Is that safe to say? I mean, can we get an interview with you without editing involved. I know you don't want to hear it, Sarah, but what about a (Oh, I'm gonna say it. Cover your ears, Sarah.) LIVE interview?

I almost, honestly, had a panic attack watching your interview with Katie Couric. Seriously almost had a panic attack. The possibility of this woman being my American voice that other countries will hear completely overwhelmed me. I had to pause the video, take 5, and try it all over again. For people to support her as a VP and soon-to-be President, blows my m.f.ing mind.

Wow, I just spaced out. *Sigh* Funny thing. I was seriously just staring at my wall for who knows how long and my phone rang and it was the Obama headquarters telling me that the debate is ON for tonight. See, I had originally signed up to attend a "debate party" type thing, but any time you leave the house you're almost guaranteed to have to spend money, right? Well, we're already tight with the cash and put some national panic on top of that and that leaves me with no life :) It's all good though. I'm saving every penny I find.

It's reasons like that that make me so passionate to keep McCain/Palin out of the White House. I can't even go to a function to support my candidate because of reasons why I need my candidate.

Giving John McCain the benefit of the doubt has proven to be a bad idea time and time and time again. I really feel like he and I are in a dating relationship and we keep breaking up and getting back together, breaking up...etc.

Why do I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt? Hell if I know. I guess I'm just looking for that one thing that will prove me all wrong about him, but he keeps proving me right over and over again. And it's really sad because people I know have said that they see no good in Obama. I just don't understand it.

Now, here's what happened (according to MSNBC). Wednesday morning, Barack called John at 8AM to recommend issuing a joint bipartisan statement regarding the economic crisis. (Note: Barack got the ball rolling.) John didn't call Barack back until 2:30PM that afternoon. That time gap makes me scratch my head, but anyways. So John calls Barack back and agrees to a joint statement and John suggested that there be a meeting at the White House with all the big wigs. (Note: Barack got the ball rolling...that hasn't changed.) Shortly after that McCain makes a public announcement to suspend the campaign, although Palin obviously didn't get the memo cause she continued with her agenda. Is she still with the campaign or has McCain not notified her and us that she's been dumped? That'd be awesome.

Then Bush gave his little shpill that planted utter panic in America AND THEN after saying "May God bless America", he has the audacity to put on one of he "good golly" smirks. What the..? We don't need to see that BS right now. You have seriously struck fear into ALL of us, unless we're as rich as your dumb ass, and you think smiling at the end of that speech is going to be a good idea? Proof more that you're completely unattached from the real American people. If you haven't seen the speech, here's the link. (Make sure you're high as a kite while watching it or you're probably gonna need to pop some Zoloft.)

So today, it looks like no agreement has been met and here's what the Huffington Post said about McCain's contributions at the meeting: "Towards the end, McCain finally spoke up, mentioning a counter-proposal that had been offered by some conservative House Republicans, which would suspend the capital gains tax for two years and provide tax incentives to encourage firms that buy up bad debt. McCain did not discuss specifics of the plan, though, and was non-committal about supporting it."

Sounds like Paulson thought the proposal was a bunch of bologna as well.*

Senator Chris Dodd was in the meeting, obviously, and this is what he had to say about some things, "What happened here, basically, if you want an honest appraisal of the thing, we have been spending a lot of time and I am tired. I have spent almost seven straight days at this in trying to come out with a workout plan for our economy a rescue plan," said Dodd. "What this looked like to me was a rescue plan for John McCain for two hours and took us away from the work we are trying to do today. Serious people trying to do serious work to come up with an answer."

But it seems that McCain has a different impression of what happened at the meeting, "I think that we've made progress, and I'm confident we will have a deal. How much I had to do with that, I'll let you and others be the judge." Go take a nap, John.

Bottom line is that people on the Hill are busting their ass for this bailout thingy and someone doesn't want to be a team player...again. Now, I've said it in previous posts as well, but I don't know whether to support this plan of a bailout or not. I've done my research. I've committed myself to try to understand all this economy lingo, etc. and I'm still taking baby steps with it. My brain just doesn't wrap around finance very well. BUT what I have gathered is that things are going to get bad, worse than they are now, if this bill isn't passed. Living paycheck to paycheck has been the McCarthy way since only one of us has been working full-time for the past 3 months so I think I have reason, as a lot of people do, to be a bit antsy about this whole thing.

Can we get an answer? Can we just do the damn thing already? I don't know the ins and outs of it, like I said and will continue to say, but it seems better to do it, but NOT McCain's way, if you don't mind. Thanks.

I'm loving Barack Obama hard-core right now.

Apparently, according to CNN, McCan't cannot go through with his campaign because he needs to focus on the economic crisis this country is in.

When I heard this news I was like, "What the...dude, you can't multi-task?"

So Barack Obama wants to go ahead and take credit for my idea (which is fine by me) by saying the debate for Friday is still going to occur because as leaders we need to multi-task, PLUS (I didn't think of this so I'll give all the credit to Barack) he said that more than ever the country needs to hear where the candidates are coming from about this. The American people need to know what the real plan is and where they stand, basically.

But before I heard all this from Barack I was thinking, "Maybe Barack should just call off the debate as well to get this settled", but now I'm thinking Barack's totally right (Momma always told me go with my first instinct.)

But now McCain is saying if there is no bailout by Friday then there is no debate.

With the crap that they pulled yesterday with the photo ops ONLY for the Palin meets foreign leaders to show she now has foreign policy experience, this is just another McCain campaign avoiding the responsibilites of serving the American people. God, I can't wait til I think of something creative to write about Palin and those cheesy-ass photos with the foreign leaders. I will have to go against my earlier claim to not mention her specifically and directly anymore, but this is TOO much to not talk about. Let me sleep on it.

But anyways. It should be interesting to see if ol' Johnny's gonna show on Friday or not. That rebellious maverick...I tell ya, avoiding this debate has been all he's dreamed about since they set a date for it. This is a great excuse to get out of it and gives him more time to prepare with his ol' boy group. Eh.

Obama = gonna be standing on the stage alone...this is a great time for him to just get down to the nitty gritty of it on a solo speech and it would be awesome if he didn't agree to a re-match. But McCain would probably try to pull the same thing.

It took about 5 years for him to prove us all right, but Clay Aiken has finally joined the family. I'm not hatin' on him for being in the closet for so long. Lord know I'm the last one to preach to someone about that.

I have no doubt that all the "Aiken for Clay" groupies' hearts are breaking, but I can't blame them for having a broken gaydar. I admit that I had to sit back and watch the second season of AI with a knot in my stomach as I saw all those little girls squeal over Clay, but, seriously, couldn't they see that he was wearing more make-up than any woman in the audience, including Paula? (Just look at the pic I attached).

I guess Clay's coming out is just testament to what having a child can do to you. I mean, teaching your kid from the start that honesty is valuable is a great trait to pass on to a kid. (Can we recruit Clay to speak with Sarah Palin about that as well?)

I've already seen where people have been leaving comments on sites saying, "Who cares? Keep it to yourself." Look, if the media hadn't been in his face from the start about whether he was gay or not then he may not have felt obliged to come out? But because he was lying to the press, he, most likely, felt he had to be honest with the press. Make sense, haters?

I have no doubt that a huge burden has been lifted from him. I was hiding just 3 months ago so I KNOW that he feels invincible right about now. I'm happy for him.

Also, while looking up info on this, I noticed that Lindsay Lohan finally confirmed her relationship with Samantha Ronson like 2 nights ago. I'm happy for them as well, but for some reason I am more concerned...concerned that Samantha dresses herself in the dark. Can we seriously get this girl a make-over? (I would attach a pic, but the Clay pic is a bit of gay overload.)

Twenty bucks says there will be organized Clay and LiLo CD/DVD burnings? I should organize an "Attend the Clay and LiLo CD/DVD burnings, steal the merchandise, sell it on eBay, and donate the money to Vote No on Prop 8" event. That's the best idea I've had all morning.

Can We Bailout of the Bailout?

Okay, so I just walked by my TV and Hardball with Chris Matthews was on. Muted, but on. And at the bottom of the screen it said "The Great Bailout". So they must be talking about this huge economic fiasco that we seem to have gotten ourselves into.

Who is to blame for all this? I don't know. I really don't. Everyone has their finger pointed at everyone else. Every "expert" has a different "expert" opinion. Math and economics and all that fun finance stuff is not my forte by a long shot so I'm fighting off headaches trying to figure out the difference between regulating and de-regulating. I mean, seriously, why does it have to be finance related? If the issue were energy or foreign policy then I may have a point of substance to make, but the truth is I don't. I simply want the layman's version of it all.

But I have noticed that McCain's campaign has slight schizophrenia right about now because they keep blaming Joe Schmo, and then blaming their own people, and then blaming Obama, and then blaming Congress, then repeat all over again. I can't help but think that all of this is part of the ultimate plan for them (duh).

"Confuse the hell outta everyone by changing targets every 4 hours. They'll be too busy trying to read between the lines that they're not gonna have time to step back and look at the big picture."

Weekly Standard editor Fred Barnes told Fox News yesterday that it should be called a "rescue" instead of a "bailout" because people are more likely to support a "rescue" over a "bailout".

Evil at it's finest. It's just the way it goes. Republicans have even said that the Democrats focus on voter registration and voter turn out during the elections while the Republicans focus mainly on the negative of the other guy. Eh. So frustrating.

So, my prediction, as worthless as it may be, is that 20 years from now we're not going to look back at 2008 as the election year where Obama and McCain faced off with Hillary in the shadows while that other woman put Wasilla on the map for us all. I have a feeling that this whole "bailout" crisis is going to affect us rather strongly in the coming years and it's not gonna be in a good way.

I'm gonna go and start stocking up on candles, water, and non-perishable food now. Later.

Demons In My TV

Why is it that every night that I actually decide to watch television, right around dinner time, I am greeted with a Cialis or Viagra commercial?

Boner medication.

Every night that I decide to cross over into the Dark Side and watch the tube, I gotta hear about boner medication. If there is anything that will cure me of hunger, it is those damn commercials. I develop a mild case of malaria midway through the commercial. It all begins with the word "erectile". When they say "erect-", I feel as if someone has hit me over the head with a gavel and sucker-punched me right in the gut. Then when the "-ile" is pronounced I feel the on-set of fever, shaking, and chills. This is all in a matter of 0.73 seconds. Before the word "dysfunction" is even said.

And then the imagery sets in. Oh Lord. I wish I could say butterflies and puppies run through my mind, but I imagine the same thing that 99% of people think of when they watch these commercials. An erect penis. I must say, it is not healthy to show these commercials at dinner time.

And then we have to deal with the abbreviation of erectile dysfunction, ED.

So after I am able to calm myself from the malaria symptoms, I take a deep breath and wait for this satan's spawn of a commercial to end, but the torture doesn't end there. About 3/4s the way through the commercial they have to refer to it as ED. So because of the light-headedness, I've almost forgotten what the commercial is even about until I have to figure out what the hell ED stands for. And then after another 0.73 seconds it finally comes to me and the symptoms hit me all over again like a nightmare ocean wave.

So now, not only am I having to deal with the fact that this commercial is even on and that it has practically immobilized me physically, but I have to sit here, trying to retain whatever appetite I have left, while desperately pushing the thought of a penis named Ed out of my mind.

Okay. Breathe.

Now, to a point other than just bitching.

Cialis, aka "the weekender", (throws up a little) spent $100 million on their TV ads back in 2004.* One-hundred-million. Outrageous. Why is this money being spent like this? Instead of spending that much dough on promoting another medication that does something I refuse to mention anymore, why not use that money somehow to give people health care for real medical issues. I mean, if no one can afford health care then how are they going to afford a doctor visit that will get the the prescription for this medication? I know people that simply want a flu shot (me). Any type of sexual stimulant medication doesn't even make the list, if there even is any for women.

I am not hating on men for wanting this medication. I'm seriously not. I'm hating on the pharmaceutical companies that buy every commercial slot and promote this stuff at times when people are eating. (Laughing at myself). But seriously.

After the election, I'm signing up for an Iraqi Veterans Against the Boner Medication Wars group.

Cheaters Are No Fun

I've received a couple of emails from fellow Obama supporters and a message from a friend via myspace to talk about this.

Honestly, I've been hesitant because I absolutely hate the subject of polls. My view on it all is that if I didn't receive a phone call or email or if I wasn't approached by someone on the street to participate in a poll, then it's inadequate. I think I received a phone call once as a kid to participate in a poll about Pepsi and Coke. They asked which one I liked the best and why. It was stupid and I can't believe that I actually remembered that. Anyways, to the meat of the matter...

It appears that PBS has been "hijacked" by Karl Rove. Apparently he is paying people off to vote for Palin in a poll conducted on the PBS website. The poll simply asks whether you think Sarah Palin is qualified to be VP. In the beginning, the poll favored Palin by a huge margin, but over the past couple of days since the news of this has happened, the numbers are starting to level out a bit.

Now, if Rove is indeed paying people off to vote favorable of the McCain/Palin campaign in THIS poll, then what's to stop him from continuing to pay these people off to keep going back to the site to vote in favor of McCain/Palin?

You may be thinking, "What does it matter?" Well, first off, we are only 43 days away from the election day. People, more than ever, are paying attention to what's being said about the candidates. These are the undecided voters and also the voters that either have not cared to research, etc. up until now or just have not had the time, etc. A stupid little poll could very much be the deciding factor for someone. Sounds ridiculous, but it's true.

It also appears that right-wing organizers have started sites to keep each other informed about polls so that they can keep voting for McCain/Palin, resulting in inadequate results. Here's one site, for example. That site really looks like people are just spamming the hell out of it with posts about the same poll including the one I mentioned above. (Note: I didn't go through all the posts so if it's all the same poll, then my bad.)

After winning 3 Emmys last night, Tina Fey spoke with reporters who mentioned her role as Gov. Sarah Palin on SNL. She apparently just blew it off and at one point said that when her child sees Sarah Palin on TV she thinks it's Tina.

Tina then took advantage of the opportunity by saying,"I want to be done playing this lady Nov. 5," she said. "So if anybody can help me be done playing this lady Nov. 5, that would be good for me."

Blue vs Conservative vs Liberal vs Red

Blue has always been my favorite color.

Your favorite color isn't something that you can just up and change one day. It's just a part of who you are, a part of who you were when you were 5 years old, back when you were telling your friends in kindergarten that blue was better than yellow and my daddy can beat up your daddy. Back in the day, that's when you decided your favorite color. You just can't change that. Believe me, I've tried. I tried to switch to green, but take my advice, stick to your true favorite color cause there's no switching favorite colors, man. I'm blue for life. It just so happens that I'm a Democrat and my favorite color did not determine my party affiliation by any means. That's sounds a bit silly, doesn't it? I mean, who in their right mind would vote for a certain person based on whether they liked the color blue or red better?

It may sound crazy that I'm sitting here talking about my favorite color, but, in a way, that's how some people in America vote. Maybe not based on their favorite color, but basing their vote off of what they've always voted is way more realistic and WAY more common.

Right now, in my opinion, the biggest epidemic in America as far as the Presidential election goes is that people are ignoring the possibility of crossing party lines. To some people I can see that being an option that has never crossed their minds.

Earlier this week I started watching a documentary called Split: A Divided America. I didn't finish it yet (but I plan on it after finishing this blog), but the jist of the movie is that a guy with a camera leaves L.A. to travel around America to ask people 6 questions as to what divides us, i.e. conservatives vs liberals, heartland vs the coasts, blue states vs red states, etc. and why.

The 6 questions were:
How are we divided?
Can we talk about politics?
What role does faith play in our politics?
Does the media divide us?
Do campaigns divide us?
What's the answer?

Before I stopped watching the movie the last time I turned it on (I'm not a big movie/TV person anymore) I remember that one of the last points the director made was that some clergy members had told their staff that if they had planned on voting for John Kerry in 2004 then they should go ahead and resign their position.

Wow. Leaders of faith said that. "Vote this way or lose your job."

*Sigh*

A little more background on your host now.

I attended a Southern Baptist church with my family growing up and during my teen years I became extremely religious and developed a very close relationship with God. I was a leader in my youth group until I left for the military and I tried very hard to walk the talk although I failed so many times. I came to a point in my life several times where nothing in the world mattered to me except what the Bible said and what God wanted me to do. Nothing.

Now, before I say what I'm about to, let me just first say that I have no regrets about my past. I admire who I use to be and at times I wish that I still had that same relationship with God, but now that I look back on that time in my life I would probably categorize myself as having a "cultish" type of mentality. I took the Bible literal word for word and, as I said, NOTHING ELSE mattered to me. I believe that I can safely say that I was a bit out of touch with reality.

So when I first heard on that video that the church leaders had actually told their staff to vote a certain way or resign, I couldn't believe it. But after pausing the video to take notes and reflect on exactly what the leaders were saying, I could understand exactly where they were coming from. These people are so into their religion that nothing else matters and they are so strongly convicted in their beliefs that they are FORCING certain beliefs onto other people.

I'm all for freedom of religion. It's a wonderful thing this country offers. But when it comes to religion being forced upon someone or a decision such as who someone is going to vote for being forced upon someone, that's when I have a problem with it. The people we are told we can trust are the very ones that are entrapping us and forcing us out of our freedom. That's wrong.

Utah is by far one of the reddest states out there. Utah is also one of the most religious states. I don't think that's a coincidence at all. Alabama is approximately the 3rd or 4th reddest state out there right now. If there is anything I took with me from Alabama, that's my pride. Southern pride is something you cannot chisel off of someone once it attaches itself to them. I'm not sure why. I honestly haven't thought about it that much. I guess it's just one of those things in life that just is cause it is.

I'll use the annual Iron Bowl for example. The Iron Bowl is a football match up between the University of Alabama and Auburn University. Every year the "experts" consider the Iron Bowl one of the best football rivalries and it truly is. You are either for one or the other. There is no in between. There is no, "I don't care." You're either a Tide or a Tiger fan. Period. Chose one or move to another state. Seriously. People have gotten divorced over the Iron Bowl. No joke.

I remember is when I had first started dating Amanda, my mom called and asked whether she was an Alabama or Auburn fan. Now, Amanda's from California. She'd rarely left California so this little football rivalry down in the South was completely foreign to her. (Since then, however, Amanda has become about as big a Crimson Tide fan as I am.) My mom did not know this because when you're from a little town, the world seems little as well. You feel that everyone everywhere knows exactly where you're coming from. I'm not blaming my mom at all. I'm sure I would have asked the same thing if I were in her shoes.

My point is that down south, we have our pride and we are pretty hard-core about it. Once we put our faith or pride into something, you most likely always will. It's the "You f*** with me, you stuck with me" type thing.

Pride + Strong Religious Influence = Someone not easily swayed to anybody else's views.

In my opinion, this can very much be the downfall of our elections. Blinded by religion or tradition, people may not even know where their candidate stands on issues (well, except for abortion. People seem to ALWAYS use that one as a determining factor. Another mystery in this world...). But it just seems that people truly are swayed for these reasons and our current president is a great example of this. There should be no question in a single souls' mind as to whether George W's presidency is a failure. The economy is collapsing before our eyes, people are still dying before our eyes, etc. These are just a few of the many successes our president will leave our next president to clean up...or continue, depending on who is elected.

Speaking as a recovered Conservative, let me just say that it is okay to go against the grain. It is okay to think through your decision instead of having your decisions put on auto-pilot. I don't mean that in a demeaning way at all. Tradition and habit are hard things to break. Strip yourself of your pride, think things through with a clean slate, and go from there. If you decide to go with what you always have then that's where you stand, but you would be surprised as to how many people would actually cross party lines.

If Jesse Ventura keeps his vow to run for president in 2012 with the same stance that he holds today then he most likely will have my vote. He is an Independent. I currently vote Democrat.

It's not impossible to be open-minded. If open-mindedness could be sold in a bottle, I would give up everything to sell it to the world. It is a wonderful release.

A true example of this is someone that seems to be on the same page as me, Republican Mayor Jim Whitaker, mayor of Fairbanks, Alaska. He has recently endorsed Barack Obama and said, “My goal is to let Republicans have a clear understanding that their right to vote should not be restricted by any party affiliation,” the borough mayor said. He said the economic and political challenges facing the state and country are broader than political parties alone can address and suggested Republicans should consider crossing party lines by focusing on the strongest candidate this year.*

US Pays Iraqis Not to Shoot

But here's something that I have been COMPLETELY in the dark about that was revealed last night. Apparently, the US has spent over 17 million dollars paying off Iraqi Sunni insurgents to NOT shoot at the US troops. 17 MILLION DOLLARS.

The article that I pulled this info from was written back in January 2008. After 8 months, what's the amount that we've paid these people now?

Is something wrong with this picture?

Does something seem wrong with this war now?

I'm Taking YOUR Rights Away, Yes YOU

Welcome to another addition of the The Hey! Agenda.

**First off, if you take my title of this post seriously then please keep reading. This is ESPECIALLY written for you. But in reality, it was chosen as a title because the fact that someone thinks that way is rather humorous to me and that's all it means.

I've been married for almost 3 months to my wife. During these 3 months, what has happened to the rights of heterosexual people in regards to marital rights? Absolutely nothing.

We have harmed no ones rights. We have not put the "sanctity" of marriage in jeopardy. I have not stood outside of a court house yelling obscene words to heterosexual couples getting married.

If anything, we have simply been trying to get by just like any other couple in our nation. We face the same struggles that other people face every day. Well, except there are people who do not accept our marriage and continuously refer to my wife as my "partner" not my wife when I speak with them. And when I speak with them I only refer to her as my wife. To me that's a sign of disrespect or maybe it's just that these people are not comfortable with it all. Which, I can understand. If you're not exposed to a gay person, then you probably will be uncomfortable. Oh, and one person even called her my "friend". I just replied with, "You can call her my wife because that's what she is. Don't be afraid to say it." There was some giggling and the group we were with started talking about other gay people they knew so hopefully that experience and my down-to-earthness (if that's even a word) helped that person to become a bit more comfortable around gay people. Because like it or not, we're everywhere and you don't even know it most the time. So, gay people, in ways, do face more obstacles than others on a daily basis. Sympathy is the last thing I'm looking for. Right now, I'm just looking for open minds. All, I'm saying is that the moment that people find out that I'm a lesbian, things change. Not with everybody, but about 90% of the time people's body language, our conversations, how often they talk to me, yada, yada...change. It's rather interesting to be gay and be able to see first hand what I'm talking about.

Believe it or not, my fellow Christians, God made me with tough skin (oh, and He made me gay. I know you're pissed now. Save your time preaching to me. I was once you back in the day so I already know what you're gonna say. Thank God for research and evidence, I am no longer a closed minded bigot anymore.) But I honestly believe that gay people are biologically and emotionally born with "tougher skin". I have always had tough skin. To survive in this world of hate as a gay person, you have to have tough skin.

I loved it a couple weeks ago when we were out on the town and guy came up to me and pointed to my ring and said, "What's that?" and I just pointed to my wife and said, "I'm married to her." And walked away and grabbed her hand. I wasn't rude about it. We were all drunk and I'm sure he wouldn't have noticed whether I was being rude or not, but whatever.

Something else I've noticed is that people are probably hesitant to call Amanda my wife because it's not legal in the state that I live in. To me, that does not matter. We are legally married somewhere. Not in this state, but somewhere we are legal. Even if they take our freedom of marriage away in California in November, Amanda will still be my wife and always will be.

PART OF THE COMMUNITY

* Let's all remember that same sex couples are part of our community. They are our neighbors, our co-workers, our friends and members of our family. They pay taxes, struggle like all of us with high gas prices, and work hard. They are bankers and small business owners, nurses who care for us and firefighters who protect our homes.

Keep it real and, yes, the gays are coming.

Military Rally for Obama - Portland, OR

Amanda and I went to a Military Family and Veterans Rally tonight. Featured speakers were: General Tony McPeak Former Chief of Staff, United States Air Force National Surrogate for Senator Barack Obama Don Holden - WWII & Korean Veteran, and Mo Fennerty - Mother of Fallen Iraqi Soldier, Sgt. Sean Fennerty.

It was an excellent time to be around fellow Obama supporters and it was nice to finally see where the Obama headquarters is located at. I was able to sign up for volunteer opportunities and steal some stickers...and a pin :)

I really wish that all the military members I have ever worked with could have been there tonight to hear the speakers. The passion for the vets and current active duty/national guard/reserve WAS IN THAT ROOM tonight.

Amanda's eyes were not dry the whole time mainly because she played the military spouse role while I was in Iraq, but she was not allowed the same privileges as a military spouse (i.e. the support from the military agencies, etc.).

AND today, Indiana, which has been leaning red for a while now, just went neutral today.

Good signs for the Obama camp. Very good signs.

And people keep asking why Obama is not sweating it and remaining calm and not panicky at his speeches across America. Dude knows what's up.

AND a huge player in this turn around is the media. I actually went to a website today that did not have Palin's face plastered all over the very front page of it. AND the media has finally jumped on the whistle blowing express. Just calling them out on their lies. I hate the View. It's like Oprah x 800 and I'm not the biggest Oprah fan either. But when Joy from the View straight up called McCain a liar to face, which was less than a foot away from hers, I could have jumped through the tv and hugged her.

So it looks like McCain/Palin spokeswoman, eh, I mean, EX-spokeswoman, Carly Fiorina, even believes that Palin is unqualified for this VP slot (a job position that I'm starting to wish never existed...overpublicity is to blame for that really).

Fiorina is the former CEO of Hewlett-Packard (elitest) and when asked by a St. Louis radio station whether Palin was qualified to run a major company such as Hewlett Packard, Fiorina replied with, "No, I don't, but you know what? That's not what she's running for."

I've always heard and took as my own expression that if I can't trust someone with the little things, then how in the hell am I going to be able to trust them with the big things?

Sure, HP is a huge company. Huge. The computer I'm on right now is a Compaq, part of the HP family (let's not repeat that to anyone, okay? I'm holding out for my Mac, but anyways...). But does this country, which is extremely large in scale compared to HP, really want someone that cannot manage a computer company? A computer company is going to be a walk in the park compared to turning this country around. But...her OWN people are saying she can't do it.

In a later interview with MSNBC, Fiorina comes back with a very intelligent comment that I'm sure she will forever remember, "John McCain, Barack Obama, and Joseph Biden couldn't run Hewlett Packard either." Oh, oh so now the TOP DOG can't even run HP? Your own presidential candidate can't even run HP? So, because you can, Carly, does that mean that YOU can run the country because you have HP CEO experience? (Carly was fired as HP CEO in 2005 after the HP merge with Compaq didn't do so well...just so you know).

I'm not understanding why the McCain campaign is chosing people that have made disasterous mistakes throughout their career as members of his staff? Are we in the business of resurrecting has-beens' careers now?

Look, Carly, stick to your $21 million severance pay cause even the McCain campaign has no use for you now. (Let me just note that Carly has given me permission to call her an elitest because when asked about the amount of her severance pay, which has been rumored to be in the $40 million range, Carly rolled her eyes and acted in a way as to say, "I WISH I had money like that!")

CNN contacted a McCain official who simply said, "Carly will now disappear. Senator McCain was furious." It was confirmed that all of Carly Fiorina's future interviews on behalf of the McCain have indeed been canceled.

At Dinner Tonight...

After school tonight, one of the most bizarre things happened to me.

A couple of friends and I went down to have dinner and a beer at a local restaurant. After being seated for about 10 minutes, a guy from the street walks in and right up to our table. He seemed a bit tweaked out, but at first I thought maybe he was a bus boy or something until he looked at me and said with an absolute straight face, "Will you have sex with me?" I could not believe what was happening. I could not believe what I just heard. The first thing that popped in my head and my response was, "That's a big fat no and you need to get the hell out of here." And he walked out. That's a true story. I have witnesses and there's no way I could just make something like that up.

If you know me then you know that something like that would get me fired up and pissed me off to no end and I probably wouldn't have stopped talking about it all dinner.

But in all honesty, listening to a speech by John McCain gets me more upset.
Yeah, sure, I'm taking this story which is rather hilarious in a way and turning it into some political, but for me it's personal.

This guy tonight came to me directly and actually went there with that question. I'm having dinner with friends and you want to ask me what?!? You see, that was a direct "insult" or what have you. But I honestly took it like a champ. It didn't even seem to faze me. Normally, and what I would expect out of myself, is that I would not have shut up about that guy all dinner long, but to be honest, I almost forgot about the entire encounter immediately after it happened. I only remembered after I got home and saw Amanda.

A lot of troops have been quoted as saying, "I oppose the war and that has made me more patriotic." That fits me to a T.

So here's something that whole encounter tonight has taught me about myself. First off, maybe I'm growing up finally. But seriously, I believe my patriotism has outgrown my selfishness. I had to go through hell to discover my patriotism years ago, I had to be betrayed by my government while in Iraq to question my patriotism, and I had to leave the military and fight back to regain my patriotism ten-fold.

I cringe at the thought of our country continuing down the spiral we're already in (look at all the big corporations selling out right about now!). I cringe at the thought of our country entering into another war or two with the next presidency. I literally feel sick to my stomach and depressed all at once with the thought of all the malicious and scandalous lies that John McCain's campaign has spread about themselves and Barack Obama. It completely infuriates me. It is my cause and my country you're fooling with.

So I say that my patriotism has grown tremendously because what, besides wanting to tell him off, was the first thing that popped in my head when that guy asked me for sex in the most inappropriate manner? I thought of our government. Where is the help this guy may need? Does he even know what he's saying right now? By the dead look on his face, the answer is probably no. I don't know his story and probably never will. But it seems that every day I encounter more and more homeless people. Yeah, sure I just moved to a big city and I may be playing naive right now. But the truth is that something has failed these people. Almost everyday I give as much change as I can spare to a homeless person that asks.

But what gives? What's the next step in ridding the richest nation in the world of poverty? This is slowly becoming a heart-wrenching cause of mine. Where's the government that has failed these people?

On McCainpedia.org, they have launched a much-needed Lie Counter.

Lately, I've been all about the McCain lies. They are blatant, in-your-face, unapologetic lies that need to be accounted for. Instead of having the public focus on the fact that a woman is really close to being in office, the public needs to know what the woman is all about. Her and her maverick.

Honestly, I was pissed off when Bush won in 2004 again, but the world of blogging and internet information has helped me to actually get involved this year. So back in 2004 I really was not as involved with the campaigns as I am this year so I really cannot remember the Bush administration getting THIS much of a head start on the lying. Yeah, sure, when they got into office they played us like a fiddle and many, many people are still dancing to their tune, but damn, McCain came out like a cannonball with his lies. According to the Lie Counter he is already up to 52 lies since nominating Palin as VP. 52 in a little over 2 weeks! At this rate we need to be prepared to be lied to at least 1200 times per year by the McCain campaign.

I mean, seriously? Where is the honor? Where is the integrity? Where is the self-respect? You're doing yourself no good by making yourself out to be a liar and you're definitely not doing the public any good. It affects us.

I'm going to add the Lie Counter website to my Hot Spots section on the left sidebar of my blog. I'll keep checking back with the website to see what we're up to now, but for your own info, that's where it'll be.

Reaching Out

The fight is still on. I'm not giving up. I just finished emailing 151 editors and staff down in Florida asking where's the direction with the election headed in their papers. I said that the coverage of Sarah Palin is distracting the American people from the real issues, which is exactly what their campaign wanted to happen. We need to continue this fight.

My concentration is Florida at the moment because remember 2000? Florida and Ohio are the battlegrounds and undecided and independent voters need to heard the truth.

Those 151 emails took over an hour to do so I'm going to call it quits for the night and get back on this ride tomorrow. We can't give up. The truth has to be unveiled. We have to demand that the issues stay the focus. We cannot enter into another unjustified war!

If you feel obliged, here's the list of the email addresses I emailed. Don't send hate mail or anything negative. Just demand that the coverage compass move to the issues...in a polite way. This is too important. The McCain campaign is gaining ground because of Palin and all the "unkind" things people are saying about her. We have to demand that she gets out of the spotlight.

"I'm sorry but, it's your fault that you got raped." That's exactly how this makes me feel. Do I seriously have to start up an emergency rape fund for myself?

According to the Washington Post, a rape in the US occurs every 2 minutes.

60/2 = 30 rapes an hour
30 x 24 = 720 rapes a day

Every rape kit costs an average of $750.
750 x 720 = $540,000 per day.

I mean, really? We're going to charge the rape victims of America $540,000 per day to pay for a rape kit. A rape kit that is required only because someone victimized them. They're the victim. Now they're victimized twice! By their rapist and their own government. This is the USA. We're better than this and we cannot allow our leaders to treat rape victims this way.

It's uncalled for. It's unethical. It's wrong.

But wait, she originally said it was just about oil. Hmmm...flip-flop hooraaaay hoooo heeeey hoooo!

I Love Paying Taxes!

Too many times within the past 2 weeks, I've seen and heard people defend John McCain's tax plan by saying something to the effect of, "Why punish the people that have worked hard and have become accomplished? That's not fair for the people that make more money to pick up the slack of the people that are too lazy to find a good paying job or who mooch off the government. To be rich is the American dream."

Let me note that these same people are people that either live with their parents still, live in a house/trailer that they're still paying for, work 40+ hours a week AND make less than $600K/year.

My question to you people is, "Why defend these people? Why not stand up for YOURSELF?"

I don't know of anybody that makes $600K/year. I probably never will and that's fine by me. These people that want this "American Dream" will be pushed further away from it under McCain's tax plan.

If you want a chance for your precious "American Dream" then I hope that McCain's wimpy tax break for your tax bracket helps you get there. I'm not saying Barack's will either. But his will definitely give you a better chance and more of a cut.

And open your eyes a bit. People have their own situations. Real people working their ass off to get on their feet. Not everybody is aiming to work at McDonald's or wanting to mooch off the government. There's a majority of people out there that are working themselves to death to get ahead in the world.

I just left the military, where I was making around $24K/year. I am now a full-time student working part-time, making way less than $10K/year. I don't want to be working a part-time job that's going to lead to nowhere. I want to have an $80K/year pay job. I want to be comfortable and secure. That's my American Dream.

Material possessions can go to hell. I just want the piece of mind, knowing I don't have to live pay check to pay check. Once I graduate and find a job I most likely won't have that problem. I want my wife and my student loans paid off, our cars paid off and start making mortgage payments on our house.

If you believe that by giving a tax cut to the underprivileged and stuggling is unfair and you are one of these people because you fall in this tax bracket (you said it), then you are out of touch with reality, just like the person you want to be president is.

Mother Goose! Mother Goose!

When I heard Amanda yelling this at the television from down the hall I was almost 100% certain that she was watching the Sarah Palin interview again. I was very interested as to where she came up with the nickname Mother Goose for her, but decided to sit and think it through before I asked her.

After about 6 seconds, I gave up and went and asked her.

Turns out she was only watching Family Feud.

Call it overwhelmed. Call it scared and anxious. Call it just flat out lazy. All I know is that my day yesterday consisted of work, nap, bath, watching a bit of news about the Palin interview and "Monster" Hurricane Ike, chatting with the sister and then bed.

I think the one thing that sucked all the energy out of me to do anything else was the news that McCain/Palin had hired some people to increase smears in the state of Ohio. The state that Obama is winning currently and the state that could win it for us, with 20 electoral votes.

I supposed it sucked the life outta me cause they were not to do anything "political" out of respect and reflection on the 9/11 victims.

Just another lie.

But it's another day and..........I need coffee first.

It only proves that he's familiar with struggling Americans.

It would be like if we were all about saying that Palin went straight from being a PTA mom to running for VP. But that's not our approach. We're relying on her accomplishments and disasters as mayor and governor. There I said it, I let the cat outta the bag! Palin was a MAYOR AND a GOVERNOR! TAADAA!!

So, why are things being deleted from Barack's resume, such as Harvard Law grad and Senator of Illinois? Why not just go ahead and label Barack an Ivy League student working a part-time job? I mean, that IS what he was...over 20 years ago and the community service work was right after that.

Dude, people aren't stupid. So why is their campaign "trying" to play us for fools?

Can we get to the issues? The everyday issues that MATTER? This is NO game.

You Say Tomato, I Say Liar

My sister wrote a Myspace bulletin about a conversation she had with her ex. He asked her whether she is basing her voting decision strictly on a tax policy. The conversation went on and basically she put him in his place. That's not to say he was swayed to vote for Barack or McCain because he does not contain the mental capacity to understand how to write his own name down on a voting ballot. I mean that in the kindest way possible. (The purpose is to only speak the truth in this blog.)

But let me just say this. Tax cut, shpax but. THAT'S NOT THE POINT! The point is the LYING. As I stated in a previous post, if you make $600K/year then, no, McCain was not lying to YOU. But to the everyday American (99.9% of the rest of the population of America), McCain was lying to you! You cannot take what the candidates are saying at face value. I've done plenty of McCain research and I know his lies and I know his truths and most of his truths go against my beliefs, but at the same time I've been fair in my decision making. I've done my research on Barack as well.

Ever since I came back from Iraq in January of 2006, I second guess everything my government tells me. Ever since I have lost days and days of sleep researching facts upon facts supporting the 9/11 conspiracy, I second guess my government. Nothing can be taken at face value with our government. The media is the government's outlet and, boy, will they use it to their advantage at every chance they get.

I guess I've used taxes as a way to "call-out" the McCain campaign on their lying because taxes affect us all. As the saying goes, "There's only two things you gotta do in life and that's pay taxes and die." We're all affected. But, as I said, that's not the point. The point is the lies.

How many times did McCain call the American people "dear friends" in his speech the other night? And how many times did he blatantly lie to his "dear friends"? Because of medical reasons, I cannot allow myself to re-watch that video of his speech, but I sincerely tried to set all that I knew about him aside to listen to his speech and see if it affected me in a way to want to vote for him.

People, the truth is that his speech was laced with deadly lies. Lies that will cost the American people billions of more dollars to run a pointless war. Lies that will cost us lives because of unaffordable health care. Lies that will cost millions more their jobs. It was enough to make me physically sick.

Just tonight I passed by 3 homeless people who had made a bed under a newspaper stand for the night. Surprisingly, I was not afraid of these people. What I'm afraid of is the government that let them down and put them in this situation. I'm not sure of their story. They could be the reason for their situation. They could be drug feigns that were driven to the streets by their addiction, but the truth is that there ARE people in that exact spot that did not have a choice. In 2007, there were 27.5 million people on food stamps. Now, just a little over 9 months into 2008, there are 28 million people on food stamps. 9 months for HALF A MILLION people to sign up for food stamps??*

Let me say that by supporting Barack 100%, I am not saying he is a god. I am not putting him on a pedestal. I am not elevating him to "celebrity" status in my mind. I DO NOT think he is perfect and I am very realistic and aware to the fact that all of his policies may not pass. I am aware to this, but when weighing out the two candidates (I know it sounds cheesy and cliche at this point) but I can only feel and see hope, genuine hope in America and in the American people again. I felt that hope. I've spoken with people that could not keep their eyes dry during the Democratic Convention. I was one of those people.

THAT IS THE AMERICAN DREAM. NOT OWNING 7 DAMNED HOUSES!!! THE AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT TO CHANGE BACK TO THE AMERICA WE ONCE WERE. THE AMERICA THAT JUST WAS, ONLY 8 YEARS AGO. SO MUCH HAS HAPPENED AND WE NEED A CHANCE TO GET IT BACK!

The 7th grade was a huge turning point in my early teen years. I began to curse to impress all my friends. I started to shave my legs because all the other girls were and I didn't want to be made fun of for not shaving even though I hated it...and still hate it to this day. I hung around the wrong group but I acted the way I should and said the things I needed to to gain their "friendship".
I stooped pretty low at one point. There was a new girl at our school named, Caroline. She wasn't the prettiest girl in school and she didn't wear the newest or best clothes around and she was a rather easy target for bullying. To impress my friends, I, along with my best friend at the time, wrote a fake letter to Caroline from an anonymous boy in school. The letter was full of flattering words from the "boy" and it basically just said that he liked her a lot. After handing her the letter and hearing the reaction from the kids I was trying to impress, I knew that I had done a good thing for my reputation in the group. But I had done it at someone else's expense. The letter was a complete lie and the meaning behind it was to harm someone's reputation for my own reputation. A couple of days later I had gotten to feeling so badly about the letter and about how this girl is probably telling all of her friends about the letter and about how a boy likes her, etc. I just got to feeling extremely guilty. The next day I was brave enough to tell her in between classes that I had made up the letter and that it was fake and that I was sorry. She didn't say anything. She just walked away. To this day I feel like shit for that. In one of the most selfish acts of my life, I took a decent person who just happened to be an easy target and ran her through the mud.

Is the McCain campaign really this desperate for votes, to gain that reputation I once sought after, that he has to twist something so innocent about Barack around to make it look and seem like something that it COMPLETELY IS NOT?

You should be ashamed of yourself for endorsing and approving of such a campaign ad, John McCain. Shame on you and your staff!

This terrifies me. The internet saves trees (paper) and is a huge outlet for the world. Its a world of information that is slipping through our hands. Comcast is already on the move to get this in place.
